How to Unlock Godfather 2 PS3 Video Trophies

Fulfill specific goals on your way to becoming a mob boss in "The Godfather II" for the PlayStation 3 to unlock rewards known as trophies. While these trophies have no bearing on the game, all of your online PS3 friends will be able to view your accolades. Trophies are split into four categories---bronze, silver, gold and platinum---with bronze trophies being the easiest to obtain and the platinum trophy awarded after obtaining every other trophy in the game. When you progress through the game, do more than just speed through to the credits and you will rack up the 42 trophies of "Godfather II."


Instructions

Bronze Trophies

Start a new game and enter the character creation menu. Alter the appearance of your character as you see fit; then begin the game to achieve the "MobFace" trophy.

Enter "Don's View" and choose a business from the map. Select "Bomb" to earn the "Torch the Joint" trophy and "Attack" to earn the "Pulling the Strings" trophy.

Take over a business and max out the guards at the business to earn the "Fortified Venue" trophy. Earlier businesses require fewer guards to earn the trophy as soon as you have the option.

Bring a safecracker with you into a business you have taken over. The safecracker will locate and break into any safes in the building. Do this on five safes to earn the "Lockpicker" trophy.

Break into a business and search for the leader. Press "L1" and "R1" to grab him and keep holding until you see "Success" appear. Release him to take over the business. Take over three for the "Three Crime Rings" trophy and five for the "Five Crime Rings" trophy.

Kill any mobsters you come across in the game. Receive a trophy after you kill 25, 100, 250 and 500 mobsters.

Locate a Level 2 firearm for the "Gun Smuggler" trophy and a Level 3 firearm for the "Modified Firepower" trop


Silver Trophies

Take over all of the businesses a rival family controls. Attack their compound with a demolitions expert in your party. Eliminate your first family for the "It's Not Personal" trophy and five for the "Last Family Standing" trophy.

Control your first crime ring for the "First Crime Ring" trophy. Gain control of every business in the game for the "Shakedown" trophy.

Go to "Don's View" and select "Collectible." Locate the corrupt officials on the map. Visit them and complete the favor they ask of you. Repeat for all 12 officials for the "Accept This as a Gift" trophy.

Collect every Level 2 and Level 3 firearm to unlock the "Welcome to the Gun Show" trophy.

Gold Trophies

Complete one of each of the 36 executions to earn the "Executions in Style" trophy. These include causing death by dynamite, choking with a garrote wire, shooting someone in the knees, throwing someone off a building and snapping a neck.

Defeat the Hyman Roth family after all other rival families have been bombed to unlock the "It's Only Business" trophy.

Control every crime ring in the game for the "Organized Crime" trophy. Crack every safe in the game for the "Safecracker" trophy.

Tips & Warnings

Earn every other trophy to unlock the platinum trophy.
