How to Install GeoHot Jailbreak Peek and Poke for the PS3

Jailbroken PlayStation 3 consoles give you access to the console's core programming, allowing you to add user-generated content and use the PS3 as a standalone computer. Peek and poke firmware can be used in conjunction with a jailbroken PlayStation 3 to create backups of games on your console for later play. After applying the peek and poke patch to your console, you will need to reinstall the Geohot firmware on your console.

Instructions

Things You'll Need

  •  PlayStation 3 Console Jailbroken with Geohot
  •  Two USB Drives
  •  PS3UPDAT.PUP
  •  Peek & Poke Syscall Patch v2 for 3.55

Jailbreak with Geohot

1
Insert a USB storage device into your computer. Select the option to "View Files and Folders" and right-click the background of the window to open the options menu. Create a new folder and name it "PS3." Open the "PS3" folder and create a new folder inside of it titled "UPDATE." Do not include periods in the folder names.

2
Download PS3UPDAT.PUP from Xup.in and save it to your desktop. Copy this file to the "UPDATE" folder on your USB storage drive and remove the drive from your computer. Do not delete this file from your desktop, it will be used to install the peek and poke update.

3
Insert the USB device into your PS3 and navigate to the "Settings" tab on the Xross Media Bar. Select the "System Update" option and choose the "Update via Storage Media" option. Accept the conditions and allow the update to install. Your console will beep four times and shut down when the jailbreak has installed. Press the "Power" button on the console to restart the system. Set the USB device aside for use after installing the peek and poke patch.
