How to Connect Your HTC EVO to a TV

The HTC EVO 4G features a HDMI Type D, or Micro HDMI, display port on the bottom of the phone, which allows you to connect the EVO to a television or monitor. Connecting your EVO to your TV allows you to view photos and videos stored in the phone's memory or on a MicroSD memory card inserted into the phone on a larger display.

Instructions

Things You'll Need

  • Micro HDMI-to-HDMI cable

1
Plug the small end of your display cable into the Micro HDMI port on the bottom of your EVO. The Micro HDMI port is located to the right of the EVO's Micro USB charging port.

2
Plug the large end of your display cable into an open HDMI port on your TV.

3
Switch your TV's input to the HDMI port that your display cable is plugged into. For detailed instructions on switching your TV's input, consult your owner's manual.

4
Tap the "Gallery" icon on your Evo's "All apps" screen to open the media gallery, and then tap the album that contains the photos or videos you want to display on your TV.

5
Press the "Menu" button and tap "Slideshow" to start a slideshow of the photos in the album, or tap a video to play it on your TV.

Tips & Warnings

The EVO will only output to a connected TV when you are viewing photos or videos in the media gallery or the YouTube application.
