How to Transfer Contacts From HTC to BlackBerry

In order to do a direct transfer of your contacts from one phone to another, you can use your old SIM card and put it into the new phone. If that's not an option, you can transfer your contacts by syncing both phones with Microsoft Outlook on your computer. Fortunately, both the HTC smartphone and the BlackBerry will synchronize. You just need to have the BlackBerry Desktop Software and HTC's Sync application.

Things You'll Need

  • HTC Sync
  • BlackBerry Desktop Software
  • Microsoft Outlook

Instructions

Sync HTC to Outlook

1
Install the HTC Sync application on your computer. The HTC Sync Installer is on the microSD card that came with the phone. Otherwise, download it from the HTC website.

2
Run HTC Sync on your computer and connect the device with a USB cable. The Synchronization Settings Wizard will launch the first time you synchronize.

3
Select Outlook as the application with which you want to synchronize. Select "Contacts" from the categories to synchronize. Click "Next" and check other settings. Click "Finish." Your contacts will sync both ways between Outlook and your HTC phone.

Sync BlackBerry to Outlook

1
Install the BlackBerry Desktop Manager software.

2
Connect your BlackBerry to your computer. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

3
Click "Synchronize." Click "Configure" and select "Synchronization."

4
Click the check box next to Microsoft Outlook. Click "Setup." Click "Microsoft Outlook" under the "Available Desktop Applications" menu. Click "Next."

5
Make any necessary changes under synchronization options. Click "Next." Click "Finish." Once both synchronizations are complete, your data from your HTC phone will be transferred to the BlackBerry.
