When you turn on your computer, all you see is a black screen. Windows XP fails to load and there are no error messages to indicate the reason. Things You'll Need
- Windows XP Installation CD
- Insert the Windows XP Installation CD in the optical tray of your computer.
- Press the "Power" button to turn on your computer.
- Press the "Enter" key at the "Welcome to Setup Screen."
- Press "F8" to agree to the license agreement.
- Use the "Up" and "Down" arrow keys to select the Windows Installation you wish to repair. Press the "R" key to select the installation. Windows Setup repairs the installation files, restarts your computer and then finishes the repair of any damaged files
