How to Update Apps in a Jailbroken iPad

Apple doesn't allow the iPad to load software from unauthorized sources, restricting installations to the iTunes App Store. The process of jailbreaking removes this restriction, allowing iPad users to purchase and install software from alternative sources, such as Cydia. This doesn't alter the way jailbroken iPads operate, and software updates through iTunes and alternative application stores can still be performed.

Instructions

iTunes

1
Switch the iPad on, and tap the "App Store" icon.

2
Once the App Store has loaded, tap the "Updates" button. A list of applications with available updates will be displayed.

3
Tap the "Update All" button, and enter your iTunes password. All official App Store updates will now be installed as normal, regardless of the iPad being jailbroken.

Cydia

1
Launch the "Cydia" application.

2
Once Cydia is loaded, tap the "Changes" button. A list of available updates will be displayed.

3
Tap the "Update All" button, followed by "Confirm" to update all non-iTunes software.
